Particle Wall - Ocean Music Venue, London 1999
Iridescent 4mm diameter marbles, set into a concrete staircase wall in the centre of the venue. The imagery is derived from an old piano roll of the Burt Bacharach and Hal David song Walk on By. I liked the idea that as you walked up the stairs, the imagery and the song’s title were both conceptually related to the physical act of movement within the venue.
