Seed of Memory 1995
The first completed work for the 1996 Material Evidence – Improvisations on a Historical Theme, exhibition. I particularly enjoyed working with the hole that appears in the left-hand section. There’s a sense of distortion that runs throughout the complete image, which really underlines the fact that the fabric has had a life.
The title has two meanings, the imagery reminds me of fruit and the research propagated a new way of thinking about the past.
