You are Here 1997

Collection Nottingham Castle Museum.

You are Here was made specifically for the Jerwood Prize for Applied Arts 1997: Textiles exhibition. I wanted to show a work that looked at patterning within an entirely positive framework.

You are Here perhaps more than any other work I have made illustrates the diversity of visual material I research. You are Here is a visual map that charts influences both formative and current which informs my work.

You are Here may be read in any direction, a new pathway across the piece will result in alternative perhaps unexpected configurations of idea and image. The title of the work refers to the interactive maps, traditionally found in most town centres indicating sites of interest.
