It’s probably fair to say that my early involvement in Textiles was centered on an exploration of materials and technique. Ideas, I continued to pull in from the Fine Arts. The mid to late 80s mark the point where I become far more interested in looking at historical textiles as a site for a contemporary artist.

Passage makes reference to the beginnings of my study of older textiles in particular carpet patterns, from this point the dialogue between my work and the past would grow with each successive year.
